Installing Self host WordPress blog
WordPress is one of the best blogging platforms in the world. Its the easiest Content Management System(CMS) to learn and use. We already discussed about the pros and cons of Self hosted WordPress.org and free WordPress.com. Usually bloggers start with a free platform like blogspot or free wordpress.com. But later as their blog grows, they will understand the limitations of using these two.
The main advantages of self hosted WP blog is that, you truly own all rights of your site. There’s plenty of plugins available, which will simplifies your tasks. Great SEO plugins are available, and site reach is far far better than blogspot blogs.
Before installing a self hosted WP blog, you must buy a domain and Web hosting. I’m using BigRock domain and hosting service. The WordPress installation steps which am going to explain is with this BigRock hosting.

If you already have one follow the below steps
- First of all Login to your Cpanel
- There you can find a WordPress under the field “Softaculous Apps Installer”.
- Click on this “WordPress” icon. Now you will be redirected to the WordPress installation page.
- Now fill out the form as follow
>>ChooseProtocol as http://
>>Choose yourdomain name, in which your going to install the WordPress.
>>Leave the “In Directory” as blank unless you want the website to load over a sub directory.
>>You can leave the default value for Database Name or set a custom one.
>>Enter your site’s name in “Site Name” field and enter description in “Site Description” field.
>>Now create your WP account by entering Username, Password and Admin Email.
>>Select the language.
>>Re check all the filled data’s and finally click Install.
That’s it. A progress bar will appear in the screen showing the installation status. It will take a couple of minutes and then your website will be live on the internet. Right after the installation the page will show your administrative URL (normally like this “sitename.com/wp-admin/” ) , click on this link and enter the Username and Password which you created during the installation process.
After login process you can see your WP dashboard. In which you can manage your site, upload or customize your theme.
