WP Htaccess Editor is one of the best plugin created for this specific purpose. All you need to do is install and activate it. You can then get the file edit option at you dashboard menu. It also allows users to restore a backup if necessary.
So these are the two best plugins available for this special purpose. If you are already using Yoast SEO plugin, then no need to use the second method. Yoast has also several features including creating and editing of Robot.txt file.
