Hosted vs Non Hosted AdSense Account
Recently a Newbie guy asked that he has one AdSense account, and then he added the ad codes in to his blog. But the ads not showing, what’s the reason ??
The reason was he has got the approval for AdSense through YouTube, so he can’t use that account to display ads on any other websites. There are two type of AdSense accounts, first one is Hosted and second is Non Hosted. That guy facing the issue has hosted account. Then we will take a look at the major difference between these two.
Hosted AdSense Account
These are the account’s which you got through Google hosted domains or platforms like Blogspot, hubpages, You tube etc. Getting Hosted account approval is little bit easy comparing to No Hosted account. But you can’t use this account show ads on other platforms. For example if you got the approval through YouTube, you can only show ads on YouTube and can’t use this account to show ads in any other sites.
Don’t have a Hosted account or want to create a one check below post
You can identify the Hosted AdSense account by a writing in red at the top right hand side of the publishers AdSense dashboard. Check the below screenshot.
Non Hosted AdSense Account
These are the AdSense accounts got through Higher domain sites like .com, .net, .in etc. This account can be used at any site, which is hosted on any platform like Google, WordPress etc. But those sites should comply with AdSense Terms and Conditions (TOS), otherwise you will get a ban for sure. It’s very difficult to get approve a non-hosted or publisher account but once if your account got approved it cannot be easily blocked. You can also use it on Windows apps and mobiles to earn money.
In Non Hosted account, there won’t be a red written “Hosted Account” at the top right corner.
Can I convert Hosted Account to Non Hosted ??
The answer is Yes. You can convert Hosted account to a normal Publisher one at any time. For that you should need a higher domain website and using that website you can upgrade your AdSense account to Non Hosted one.
